Howdy, campers! Another mixed singles week to make you squeal in glee or question the sanity of C3’s contributors. Or both, possibly!

RyanHYK is back with his second song, following May 17’s “Money, Money, Money”. “Who Was in My Room Last Night?” is most famous in the music gaming community for its appearance in Guitar Hero II. Now you can once again enjoy the DUH nuh, DUH nuh, DUH nuh, DUH nuh, DUH nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh riff! Eh, you’ll remember the part I’m talking about. If you’ve never heard the original, you’ll also learn how hard it is to cover the Butthole Surfers, apparently.

espher is our go-to man for electro pop and dance, and Icona Pop’s “I Love It” delivers. Despite its frankly unflattering album art, this song will get your party rocking in no time. This may be an “oh, THAT song” — it peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. If it’s not, it will be after hearing it once or twice.

Many artists are conspicuously missing from RB’s library, and though Katy Perry might not have been your first thought, she definitely belongs on that list. LyokoFreaks certainly thought so, and brings us “E.T.”, with full multitracks from the mega-hit album Teenage Dream. Sing along! It’s a perfectly innocent song; she wants to be there when you vibrate, be filled with your poison, and be stunned with your “lasers”. Uh…

The real “THAT song!” this week, though, is drummerockband‘s C3 premiere: “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers. You may know this popular radio single as “I belong with you / You belong with me, you’re my sweetheart”. In this song, the newly popular genre of folky indie rock may have hit its folky pinnacle of folk-ness.

Finally, unstoppable multi-genre author farottone bolsters R.E.M.’s presence in the RB library with “Nightswimming” from Automatic for the People. This guitar/keys/vocal number may not be “Losing My Religion”, “Stand”, or “Man on the Moon”, but you can’t beat singing along with Michael Stipe.

See you next Friday!
