Like the legend of the phoenix, our butts were beginnings. What keeps the planet spinning? Sex, apparently. Robot sex.

Daft Punk is one of the most influential electronica/house bands in the world. “But C3!” you cry. “It’s called Rock Band, not electronica band!” Deal with it, bro. As electronica songs go, this week fits the Rock Band model decently well. Nightmare Lyre and TrojanNemo have picked out two songs from the classic album Discovery and one from the brand-new Random Access Memories. “One More Time”, one of the greatest party tracks of ever, will let you live out your blue-skinned Cresendolls fantasy. “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” rocks a different, more upbeat vibe, which segues excellently into “Get Lucky”, which is almost straight-up disco. (“HBFS” has received several drums changes since its initial release, which was by Nightmare Lyre and not any other versions you might have. “One More Time” received minor touch-ups across the board.)

Everyone has “guilty pleasures”, those songs that you kind of hate but always sing along to anyway. I would name some specific names, but I don’t want to get lynched. Anyway, farottone has picked out three of the best/worst earworms for your enjoyment/hatred this week. Creed’s “My Sacrifice” joins “Higher” in the RB library, and is very recognizable. Saliva, who you might know from “Click Click Boom”, is up next with “Ladies and Gentlemen”. It’s just as nu-metal-y as you might expect. And if the final song, The Calling’s “Wherever You Will Go”, doesn’t get you doing your best tortured post-grunge voice, well… Anyway, all of that was a lie, and these are farottone’s actual favorite bands! You should totally sign him up for their mailing lists and stuff.

Mad that we didn’t include “Aerodynamic”? Have some personal guilty pleasures you’d like to play? Author them yourself!

See you next Friday!
